Portfolio

Real problems. Real solutions.

Each project below was built to solve a specific operational problem — not to look good in a mockup.

Case Studies

Medical Laboratory Patient Portal

Healthcare — Medical Laboratory Firm

  • Node.js
  • MongoDB
  • Authentication
  • Email Notifications
  • File Management

The Problem

The laboratory was managing patient results manually — sending PDFs by email, chasing results by phone, and handling appointment bookings through a paper diary.

What I Built

A secure patient portal with role-based access control. Patients log in, view their results, download PDFs, and book appointments. Staff manage patients, upload results, and send automated email notifications. Built on Node.js with MongoDB.

The Result

The lab eliminated manual result distribution entirely. Patients receive automated email notifications when results are ready. Appointment booking moved online, reducing admin time by several hours per week.

Homecare Review API Integration

Homecare Review API Integration

Home Care Services Company

  • REST API Integration
  • Node.js
  • JavaScript

The Problem

The company had dozens of positive reviews on Homecare.co.uk but no way to display them on their own website. Manually copying reviews was time-consuming and error-prone.

What I Built

An automated integration that pulls reviews from the Homecare.co.uk API on a schedule, stores them locally, and displays them on the website. New reviews appear automatically without any manual intervention.

The Result

The client's website now displays up-to-date reviews without any manual copying. The integration runs silently in the background, and the client has not had to touch it since deployment.

Automated Weekly Activity Schedule

Automated Weekly Activity Schedule

Community / Nonprofit Organisation

  • JavaScript
  • HTML/CSS
  • Date Automation

The Problem

The organisation published a weekly activity schedule on their website. Every week, a staff member manually updated the HTML to change the dates — a repetitive, error-prone task that sometimes resulted in incorrect dates being published.

What I Built

A JavaScript-based schedule that calculates the correct dates for the current week automatically. The content stays the same; only the dates change, derived from the current date each time the page loads.

The Result

The weekly date update is now fully automated. Staff no longer need to touch the website every week. The schedule has been running without manual intervention since deployment.
